Our Voluntary Board of Directors is comprised of individuals from the community who have taken a proactive involvement to advance our Society’s capacity to continue serving women who are in need of our services. The Board consists of an Executive Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Directors.  Directors may also form committees as means to achieving specific goals.

We are currently inviting community members to join our Board of Directors.  Minimal requirements are:

• a feminist approach that fosters a culture that balances business with a community base, and an applicable, working knowledge of the world of non-profits & women
• a thorough understanding of the stigma associated with addiction, related harms, and how all relate to women
• a one-year commitment to attendance at Board meetings at our Head Office (every month or second month), and minimally 16 additional hours per month of networking, fundraising or other work related to Board governance and/or business
  
• a general commitment to engage in proactive measures to advance our operational capacity to continue serving women in need

You can help expand our organizational capacity through your combined skills, knowledge and experience in any of the following areas:

• non-profit social/addiction services for women
• licensed, residential supportive-recovery services for women
• organizational and community networking
• volunteer recruitment and coordination
• community event planning & organization
  
• community- and/or corporate-level fundraising
  
• non-profit/business law
• accounting & finances
•  marketing, media and public relations
  
• non-profit organization & administration
• grant & proposal preparation/submission
• committee work

We are currently inviting community members to Volunteer for Committee Work.  Committee Members meet as determined by the committee and/or as the committee's specific goals warrant, with one Committee Member reporting to the Board on a monthly basis.
